Background

The Mansfield and Ashfield Clinical Commissioning Group recently undertook a pilot project to reduce avoidable medication waste in care homes. Their study compared data taken from an audit before and after they implemented a Good Practice Guide and a Tailored Action Plan.

Objectives

They needed to present their research, in poster format, to delegates at the HSRPP Conference held at Nottingham University.

Outcome

The poster helped to engage delegates, pharmaceutical professionals and drivers for change to open a discussion about how to reduce waste and spread good practise for improvement.

Since the conference, the project has been rolled out across the Mid-Nottingham CCG’s and implemented in 120 Care Homes in the region.

Northumberland Design were fantastic to work with, helping us to bring our research to life for the presentation. The poster was eyecatching and easy to digest all of the key facts at a glance.

As a result, deligates were eager to discuss the project and share our research. It definitely helped to open a conversation and acted as a springboard for the project.
